The changing face of Monrovia

In 2006, when I made the decision to return to Liberia to live, I got many questions from family and friends who wanted to know why was I making such a major move at that point in my life and career. They were concern about my decision and it's effects on my life, and although the jury is still out, I can safely say that the number one reason I wanted to come home which was to "witness the reconstruction of Liberia" is being realized.

In the 3 years since moving home to Liberia, I have witness many changes especially in respect to developmental and infrastructure changes, along Tubman Blvd. in Sinkor and on the Robertsfield Highway.

From 1st Street in Sinkor all the way pass Red Light, things are changing. New building projects are starting up and entire communities are surfacing along the Robertsfield Highway. My goal with this series of pictures is to show you the changes that are underway and pictures of things to come.

This empty lot on the corner of 7th Street and Tubman Blvd. is going to be the new home of an Office and Shopping Plaza

Construction on the Office and Shopping Plaza has not started, but the sign of what is to come is up for all to see

A new building nearing completion on Tubman Blvd. and 6th Street

I am not sure what this building is, but its coming up fast and looks good. The empty lot to the right of it has been fenced off. This lot once held a house and other small make shift structures. The land has been leased and something new will be coming soon.

The IAF Corporate Office and Showroom on Tubman Blvd. This building was completed in 2008

This building is next to the IAF Building on Tubman Blvd.
